At the end of the Antholz Valley there is the Antholz Lake . A lovely trail leads around this lake. We suggest to combine this round walk with a day tour through the scenic Antholz Valley. From Oberrasen (1,085 m) we follow trail n. 1, which leads us past the Rasner Möser Biotope to Antholz Niedertal. We stay on the same trail (marking 1) and walk along the left side of the valley to the Antholz Lake (1,642 m) with its round trail. The way back leads us along the right side of the valley (marking 11) to Antholz-Mittertal. This trail takes us past some old farms. Finally we walk back to Oberrasen (marking 1). |

From Rein we take the goods trail to Knuttental. Then we take the trail on the right (marking 8a) across the Knutten rivulet (broad bridge) to a nicely located farmhouse. The trail leads through the woods to Untere Kofleralm (2,034 m), then through a beautiful cembra pine forest to Obere Kofleralm (2,192 m). Our trail (still marking 8a) now leads across the pastures to Ursprungalm from where we can enjoy the scenic view over the glaciers of the Rieserferner group. The following section of our tour leads us to Kasseler Hütte (marking 8) along part of a trail called Arthur Hartdegenweg, a path for impressive walks above Reintal. First we cross the rivulet Ursprungbach and walk around a mountain slope, until we can see the long range of the majestic glaciers of the Rieserferner group. On the rather well kept trail, there is a passage which requires a little attention. After crossing the final moraine of Hochgall, we reach the refuge Kasseler Hütte. From there we descend to Reintal on trail n. 1, which leads us past some pastures high above Bachertal. |

3: Kasern (1.595 m) – Obere Tauernalm (2.018
m) – Krimmler Tauern (2.633 m) – Birnlücke
(2.667 m) – Birnlücken-Hütte (2.441 m) –
Lahner Alm (1.986 m) – Kasern (1.595 m) |

This tour leads us along a historic trail: the passage across Krimmler Tauern to the Salzburg region was used by herdsmen, farmers, hunters and smugglers some thousand years ago.
From Kasern we take the way of the cross stations to the small church of Heilig Geist . Trail n. 14 leads us past the Trinkstein Biotope to Tauernalm and then on to Lausitzer Weg (marking 13). The ascent to Krimmler Tauern, which has become a national frontier due to the historic events of the past century, is worth the effort: here the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park borders on the Hohe Tauern National Park . Then we walk past the refuge Tauernhütte in the direction of Birnlücke (marking 13). We can take a break at the refuge Birnlückenhütte before we descend to Lahner Alm (1,986 m) and return to the hamlet Kasern on the forestal road. |

From Ahornach (1,334 m) we look for the markings 10 and 10B to "Schlafhäuser" (1,952 m) and then follow the trail named Durreck Höhenweg (marking 10C) to Kleines Jöchl (2,276 m). We have an amazing view from there: the majestic massifs of Durreck and Großer Moosstock, the steep rock faces of Schneebiges Nock, Windscharspitze and Wasserfallspitze in the east, the Tauferer Valley in the south, as well as the far peaks of the Dolomites and the Gruppach group in the west. The trail, now slightly descending, leads to the wide basin of Pojenalmen (2,141 m). The ascent on trail n. 33 to Obersteiner Holm (2,395 m) is worth the effort, as the view on the entire range of the Zillertal Alps with its mountains higher than 3,000 meters is amazing. The trail then leads across Pojenkamm to Pojenspitz (2,453 m) and to Klausscharte (2,579 m). From there it is possible to reach the peak of Rauchkofel (2,617 m) in around 20 minutes. From Klausscharte, there is a comfortable trail to Klaussee (2,162 m), the most beautiful mountain lake of the Durreck group. Trail n. 33 then leads past Speckalm (1,726 m) and the Restaurant Klausberg (1,602) down to Steinhaus (1,045 m). |
